Head and body 8.0–11.8cm; tail 7.5–10.3cm

The Korean field mouse measures 8.0–11.8cm from head to body, with a 7.5–10.3cm tail, 2.1–2.3cm hind feet and 1.4–1.7cm ears. Its back is pale reddish brown, fading to pale yellowish brown on the flanks, while the underside is greyish white. The boundary between upperparts and underparts is noticeable but not sharply drawn, and the ears match the brown tones of the head and shoulders (German Wikipedia, general species account).

This species belongs to the wood-mouse genus Apodemus and occurs across a broad part of China, southern Siberia, the Korean Peninsula and Japan. Its tail is approximately equal to, or slightly shorter than, the head-and-body length. Females have four pairs of teats, divided between the chest and lumbar regions (German Wikipedia, general species account). Both North and South Korea are included in its documented native distribution (Mammal Diversity Database v2.4).
